Filming around SF
This is Lars Koehne and Kay Andersson, two German filmmakers making a documentary about the U.S. anti-war movement for Public Television in Europe. Both are really great guys, and used to filming in places like Afghanistan, Sudan and Somalia, so following me around the Bay Area while I hung signs was a relatively easy and fun assignment for them. Code Pink and the Raging Grannies will be the other subjects in the film.
The rest of the world is hungry to hear about people in this country speaking out against the war. When you think about it, very few people in the world really supported our going to war in the first place: Apart from conservatives in the U.S. and Israel, the Shiites and Kurds in Iraq, Osama Bin Laden and the Iranians, that's pretty much it. Everyone else in the world thought it was a pretty stupid idea... But we showed them though, eh?
Lars wanted some shots of me at the computer, so we filmed some in my motel room as pictured below. When I checked out, the woman at the front desk started admonishing me about filming in the rooms, (something we'd already cleared with the manager) and as much as accused us of using the room to make porn. It was a weird conversation actually... I found myself getting offended and told her so. Although I'm oftentimes mistaken as a porn star, this was the first time it had ever happened with my clothes on.

Wicked interesting site. I’m glad I stumbled across it. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Did you hang the one out by the Altamont pass? My brother spotted an Impeach sign on his way to Tracy the other day.
So cool. I am so glad someone is going to let the rest of the world know that there are Americans who think Bush is a liar and a crook, stole the election in 04, and needs to be IMPEACHED. I can't wait to see him in the blue dress.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
It's one thing to complain about things, it's another to do something.
You are doing something and that's great!
I added your link to my blog. Not many visitors yet but I just started.
Greetings from Germany
Julia
Interesting site. I've noticed that you've said many times that Bush needs to be impeached, but how is that a solution? Who is the right man for president? Kerry? Please, don't make me laugh.
I am really interested to know what you would respond to this question. I'll check back.
Impeachment is not the same thing as removal from office. It can merely result in censure, which I believe would make us look less like a laughingstock in the eyes of the world given the impeachment of his predecessor. Censure for Bush needn't extend much further than simply teaching him to read and write in English.
It should also be pointed out that impeachment isn't a process by which we choose the right person for the presidency.
It's how we get rid of the wrong one.
wow give any moron a comp and he can show how much of an idiot he really is

ill bite/respond to the seraphim as well:
yes Kerry was and is the right person for president and as other people mentioned impeachment is the process to remove the wrong person - in our current situation another wrong person would become the president - also an impeachment may only result in a "censure" and not removal
While it's true that I opened my mouth and proved myself the fool in my knowledge of what impeachment actually was (I thought it was not only a censuring, but also a removal from office), I do know that it is not the process by which the right guy is chosen. Granted, I'm still not and never will be brilliant in the political world, so thank you, anonymous, for pointing out my lack of political knowledge with your wonderful phrase that will ring whe world over, "wow give any moron a comp and he can show how much of an idiot he really is". I'll be nice and refrain from pointing out the true idiot...
It seems that I have also possibly stirred a small hornet's nest by speaking out against Kerry. If I had known that I was posting on a Pro-Kerry site, I would never have posted. I'm sorry to have caused such a ruckus.
Also, christhughes, as much as I would like to ask you how Kerry was and is the right man for president, I'll also refrain from that, as well.
If you wish to talk to me, you have my blogger name and my profile readily available. I will not check this site again. I would be tempted to post comments again, and that would probably be wrong for me to do so, and it may even result in a sin for me to do so. I'd hate to have to go to confession and tell the priest, "Father, I got angry at people I've never seen before on a blog." That would just be embarassing...
