Impeach is the Word: Jan. 8th & 9th

The good people at Daily Kos have decided that January 8th will be the first nationwide action for the guerrilla impeachment drive, so you know what to do: make a sign, put it up where people will see it. You can get together with some likeminded patriots and have a signpainting party over the weekend or you can employ the special, unpatented freewayblogger method: Just Do It.

Although I'm all for organizing, I've travelled enough in grassroots circles to know it can also lead to paralysis and death. One of the chief advantages of the freewayblogging medium is that it can be done quickly, easily and effectively by just one person. You.

Remember that the right to post political opinion (safely) on public property is not only guaranteed by the first amendment, it's one of the most protected forms of speech we have: it's high time we started using it.

And some basic signhanging and How To tips can be found here:

personally, we have taken kargo x's suggestion, and printed up sheets of avery labels with the word "impeach" on them, and are sticking them everywhere we go (that would not be considered vandalism... remember, it doesn't help our cause to piss people off). we also put the url www.impeachbush.org underneath the "i" word, to direct folks to information on the internets.

keep up the good work!

And yes -- why stop there... Just get some post-it notes. You can supermarket blog. Walmart blog. Those selves of lonely looking cereal boxes: lonely no more. They can become PATRIOTS.
Challenge your friends to see who can post-it the most. And oh, how nicely they fit into magazines and books...

By the way: "Eighth of January" is also the title of a cool 18th century fiddle tune. Go look it up on Google.

That can be the theme music for the movement!

Great idea deborah! I am going to steal a pack of post-it-notes from work today!

I do my guerrilla impeachment work by writing "Impeach Bush" on the return envelopes in junk mail. I then send it back stuffed full non-harmful garabage. I used to just send the garabage and they would keep sending me junk mail; since I started writing Impeach Bush I don't received near the junk mail I used to. When Texas or Utah is the return address I usually add a comment on DeLay or Hatch and a little extra garabage.

How about posting the Yahoo Freeway Blogger regional group links?

Now, no one wants you to steal. Progressives get upset about people doing that, just like they do about a president lying us into war and spying on us. (A warrent-less spying indeed.)
But Post-Its are great for this precisely because they don't damage property. They slip right off when they've made their point, changing nothing but a sense of
complacency.

Can someone please post a comment at my blog explaining why you want to impeach Bush and end the war? Thank you.

I encourage you and your readers to take a few minutes and see:

http://www.usalone.com/cgi-bin/transparency.cgi?paper=1&qnum=pet45

It's a list of the 25 most recent comments made by real Americans participating in an online poll/letter-writing campaign concerning the impeachment charges recently filed against Vice President Cheney, which are now being evaluated by the House Judiciary Committee. The participation page is at:

http://www.usalone.com/cheney_impeachment.php

Since this campaign began, three members of Congress have signed on as co-sponsors, in part due to hearing from their constituents.
