Gulf War Song

"We got a call
to write a song
about the war
in the Gulf...
But we shouldn't
hurt anyone's feelings.

So we tried,
Then gave up...
'Cause there was no such song.
But the trying was very revealing..."
- Gulf War Song
(Please listen.)

"He passed out on the sundeck that morning,
Quietly saying goodbye.
But I was so hammered,
I sputtered and stammered...
Told him he couldn't just die.

He was a rock...
went straight for his own Armageddon.
Face froze in a grin...
Ambulance flyin' in: I never drank again.
Can't really call it a loss or a win..."
- The Drinking Song

(all songs by Moxy Fruvous)

"I like to keep it in the refrigerator:
keeps the powder dry, and the action quicker...

I'm fencing off this little piece of heaven,
polishing up my AK-47...

I'm fighting for you and a blue-eyed Jesus.
America First! the rest get the pieces.

Happy Birthday Trisha,
I'm in the Michigan Militia..."

GOP Splits into Sunni, Shiite Factions

Washington, DC (AP) - Outrage over recent revelations that the White House has been covertly funding Sunni extremist groups reached a head today as the Republican Party announced it was permanently splitting into Shiite and Sunni factions. In an unprecedented erosion of party unity, Sunni Leaders Cheney and Bandar denounced GOP Shiite leaders Wolfowitz and Chalabi as "infidels" and "apostate dogs", while Republican Shiites charged the Sunnis with betraying the Reagan revolution and running up the deficit.

Leaders from both sides declared they would hold separate conventions resulting in both Sunni and Shiite tickets. While speculation abounds on potential Sunni candidates, Prince Bandar promised "a jihad against capital gains taxes." Meanwhile, Shiite insiders are talking about a possible pairing of James Baker and Oliver North, focusing on fiscal conservatism, family values and "Compassionate Khomeni-ism."

Bill Hicks/Bay Area

"All our beliefs are being challenged now, and rightfully so – they're stupid."
"No one – and I repeat, no one – has ever died for a flag. See, a flag … is just a piece of cloth. They may have died for freedom, which is also the freedom to burn the fucking flag, see. That's freedom."

"I believe that God left certain drugs growing naturally upon our planet to help speed up and facilitate our evolution."

"The next revolution is gonna be a revolution of ideas."

Interview/Nightwork

from BannedMagazine

The two above are day and night pictures of a sign I put up in Santa Rosa. The cardboard came from an auto parts box I found behind a body shop and with an overhead projector and about ten cents worth of paint, I was able to turn it into this sign in about twenty minutes. Placing it required nothing more than parking, carrying it about a hundred feet up the overpass, leaning it up against the fencing, strapping a couple of large bungees behind it and walking away.

Although you can't really tell from the nighttime picture, the sign was impossible to miss for southbound drivers on the 101: glowing and hovering above the northbound lanes like some ghostly admonition from Above.

Arsenal of Democracy: Furniture Stores

The area behind furniture stores is usually an excellent place to obtain massive pieces of cardboard.

One of the many simple beauties of this art form is that it requires only cardboard, paint, duct tape (black and white) and a boxcutter to pretty much complete your toolbox.

Massive pieces of cardboard can be used as a whole canvas,

Or cut into pieces to make many smaller signs.

I like to do both.
