So, since they've outlawed abortion, I take it that, if a woman has an abortion in South Dakota, she's now considered a murderer?
Do they have the death penalty in South Dakota?
It's slippery slope time, folks.
Personally, I oppose abortion. I'd rather err on the side of life.
But it's the mother's choice to make until the baby is born. Because, she's the person who is most responsible for that particluar moral decision about her own body and her own potential breathing baby. You can't legislate religion. Well, you can, but you shouldn't.
OTOH, if, against a pregnant woman's wishes, someone purposely kills her nine-month old fetus by, say, repeatedly punching her in the womb area, shouldn't that person be charged with murder?
Tricky questions. No easy answers.
