Around California/Saroyan

"The whole world and every human being in it is everybody's business."
(all quotes by) William Saroyan

"Remember that every man is a variation of yourself."

"I am deeply opposed to violence in all its forms,
and yet I myself am violent in spirit, in my quarrel with the unbeatable:
myself, my demon, God, the human race, the world, time, pain, disorder, disgrace and death."

“Try as much as possible to be wholly alive, with all your might, and when you laugh, laugh like hell and when you get angry, get good and angry. Try to be alive. You will be dead soon enough."

"I have made a fiasco of my life, but I have had the right material to work with."

"I do not know what makes a writer, but it probably isn't happiness."

"The purpose of my life is to put off dying as long as possible."

When McCain wins the election (which he most definitely will), will you put up more anti-McCain signs? Also, if the Negro happens to get elected and doesn't have the troops out by mid-next year, will you turn on him?

Magnificent work--thank you.

Note to Anonymous, I won't be posting any more missives that refer to anyone soley by their race. This blog's been getting a lot of international traffic lately and I think it's best for the nonce to downplay the racist elements of our society to the extent it's possible. Please take this to heart, even if, as I've long suspected, you're a liberal trying to make conservatives look stupid. While this tactic may afford you some sort of partisan glee, it's not helping the country.

That said, in the future I plan to put up signs that say whatever I damn well want them to. I hope this clears things up for you.

Was not able to snap a pic but on the 10 FWY east out of downtown LA was the sign that said (to the best of my recollection)

"The war is a LIE!
IMPEACH Cheney!"

It stayed up more than 3 days.

This freeway is the 2nd or 3rd most heavily travelled freeway in the country.
