Hi Scarlet!, I'm trying to get away from reading emails all day and signing e-petitions. How long can I tolerate what is happening in the world and not do anything about it?! If I took the time I spent on the computer and painted I would be much more productive. These were put up on the Long Island Expressway (also known as the world’s largest parking lot!), and the Northern Parkway, another heavily trafficked road on Long Island.
Taking these messages and putting them up for many people to see is the activity I am most proud of, more than my work, fundraising and other community efforts. I feel like I am doing what is really right. And by doing this, I'm giving my kids first-hand experience that they can effect change in their world, not just in a video game, and how satisfying it can be.
I encourage everyone to experience the joy that comes with speaking truth to power!
Take good care,
Star

I'm really trying to understand, but I don't see how adding additional trashing of freeways and wasting materials made from trees is helping anything. The war has happened it is part of our history now lets finish the job and move on. The ferry is built and running gather the facts and some solutions, distribute them electronically through your blog or email, this will inform and help people to make better decisions.
I think there's a whole host of dynamics at work here you probably wouldn't understand, so don't feel too bad about it. Wikipedia has some excellent articles on the founding fathers, the Bill of Rights, freedom of speech etc.. I suggest looking up "Valley Forge": it'll help you understand some of what people sacrificed to ensure the rights of individuals to speak out in defense of their nation and why it's more valuable than scrap cardboard.
All very heady stuff to be sure, but definitely worth checking out.
I think that it would be hard to reach people with the message as most at way to lazy to stand up for what they believe.
