Los Angeles

The Tribunes of the People, being strong believers in the people's right to know, applaud recent document releases by Wikileaks. While Julian Assange is ensconced in a baronial hall somewhere in the English countryside, though, PFC Bradley Manning, who is alleged to have leaked the documents to him, is being held in the brig at Quantico Marine Base in Virginia under conditions of solitary confinement that are tantamount to torture. The Tribunes strongly support Bradley Manning.
Here is his entry on Wikipedia:
And here is a nifty way to access the documents contained in the Wikileaks release:

Fuck Manning. He did the crime, now he'll do the time. Actions have consequences. He's learning that the hard way.

How do you know he did the crime if he hasn't been convicted of anything?

Do you approve of torture?

Begone, troll!

(Looks for spray can of Troll-=B-Gone...)

You're AWESOME. I love this sign.

Manning is upholding the dignity of the entire military. How many countless military people have resigned and protested and gone through "channels" and gotten nowhere?

I was looking for a march for him in Los Angeles the 19th and there is none. However, there is an anti-war march at Hollywood and Vine at 12 noon Saturday, when most of those marches are taking place.

Thank you for your comment, Burkey, it's greatly appreciated. I marched in the all-purpose march in Los Angeles on the 19th, but part of me was in Quantico with Daniel Ellsberg, Colonel Ann Wright and even the creepy-looking Mutant Ninja-style policemen who attemped to intimidate them.

Your silence on your site speaks volumes about you. You don't care about this COUNTRY, you care about your partisan politics. Have the wars ended? Is Gitmo closed? Have the drone attacks (which have and will kill civilians) ended? No. These are things that you would be rallying against if you had an ounce of integrity in your system (or if a Republican was in office). But, it's clear that since you haven't updated your blog since JANUARY 2011, you only care about ripping conservatives. Once a Republican is in office after the 2012 elections, you will be posting like a maniac again.

btw: I dare you to "approve" this message on your blog. I guarantee you won't because it will show your obvious bias and blow your opinion to shreds. Good day, Sir.

Why don't you put up anymore signs about the war? Or Gitmo? Or ANYTHING? Is it because "your guy" is in office? Partisan cat got your tongue?

Sorry for not publishing here lately, I've been into other things. You're so right about my preferring Democratic policies to those of the Republicans. Tell me, what tipped you off?

You've been "into other things" while the wars continue, US servicemen and servicewomen are dying in a war you are against, civilians are being killed by drones in the sky, Guantanamo Bay is still housing people indefinitely and without trial? Are you kidding me? These things the things that you rallied against when W was in office but now that "your guy" is in the White House, you're "into other things"? I assume you're in support of all of the killing that's going on now since you don't seem to be saying ANYTHING about it now.

Well spotted there laddiebuck: the only signs I've put up since the election have been to thank President Obama for getting at least some form of healthcare passed. And believe me, should there be another bumbling, stuttering egg-sucking greedhead from your side of the aisle elected President, I will most likely go back to commenting about it on this nation's freeways. And get this, there ain't a god damned thing you can do about it.

You want signs up against the war, Guantanamo, etc.? Put 'em up. Send me pictures and I'll publish them. And don't call me partisan: I'm not. I'm Highly Partisan. Or, if you'd rather, Fiercely Partisan. Not because I think today's Democrats are so great, but because today's Republicans are so utterly bizarre. Honestly, if Janet Reno hadn't killed him, I think David Koresh would be one of your front runners.

You say: "I will most likely go back to commenting about it on this nation's freeways. And get this, there ain't a god damned thing you can do about it."

It may be news to you, but I have zero desire to try to do something "about it" in regards to your signs. I think the fact you don't put ANY up now when, according to your previous signs, atrocities are being committed (Guantanamo Bay still being open, Iraq, Afghanistan - although I may be wrong, but I think you may agree with Afghanistan?) says quite a bit about your true beliefs. It's comical, actually. These were your main beefs 4 years ago but now that we have Obama in office, you seem to be okay with them? Based on your last response, you're willing to accept wars, innocent casualties, and the continuation of a detention facility which you STRONGLY disagree with simply because we get healthcare? Really? Help me understand how everything you've rallied against in the past is now not important because we have healthcare.

If you have zero desire in changing my behavior, what's your point in writing? And what would be my impetus to explain? If Obama does something to piss me off, I'll probably say something about it, but seriously, compared to Bush, he's George Washington, someone I admire. Sure, it'd be great if he could clean up all the foreign policy disasters of the Bush era, but he's got his hands full trying to clean up the economic disasters of his predecessor. And I like him: he's smart, erudite and maintains a sort of dignity and composure that leaves not just Bush, but pretty much every other republican leader gasping in comparison.
But I guess you know that already.

Best of luck in 2012.

I truly have zero interest in changing your behavior. It would just be nice for your tens of followers to hear you admit that you truly don't care that the wars are still goIng on and Americans are losing their lives daily, Guantanamo Bay is still detaining people without trial indefinitely, and drones are killing innocent people abroad. You've used healthcare and the economy as excuses for your silence, but you haven't said anything about the wars or Guantanamo. What is your opinion on both of those? As far as I can tell Obama hasn't done much that should make you happy in either case yet you seem to be content with the continued killing and incarceration.

Yeah, life's funny that way.
