How To Make Signs

Take some large boxes and slit them open.
(Bike boxes work well.)
Paint the inside white.
Use white duct tape to tape flaps together.
Hang on garage door/wall.
Type message on computer.
Print onto transparency.
Place on overhead projector.
Shine onto cardboard.
Trace.
Paint.
Repeat.

  3. This is great in California, but I'm not sure how well the signs would hold up in the rain.

  4. Actually they hold up remarkably well. I've had signs in Portland and Seattle, where it rains all the time, stay up for months and look just fine. Amazed me myself.

Cardboard, with just a thin coat of latex, is practically a miracle canvas for this sort of thing.

Saw your recent post on DailyKos. Your texts accompanying the blue planet posters are very effective. Do you have a source for relatively inexpensive Earth posters?

  6. Apart from buying-in-bulk or owning a printing press, no real cheap way to get posters. I got 500 for about a thousand bucks. Well worth it.

Just downloaded the image from google, printed onto a transparency, traced and painted.

I love that cover almost as much as I love the album. Side Two especially.

  11. Welcome back! I've long been an admirer, so now I'll be disciple. Gonna start looking for good spots in the west Puget Sound area.

How large should the letters be for good visibility? Thnx.

  12. Excellent! BECOME THE MEDIA (as Jello Biafra would say). Other poster ideas: "'CITIZENS UNITED' IS A SICK JOKE;" "MONEY IS NOT SPEECH!!" "WAKE UP - REPUBLICANS ARE THE PARTY OF THE ONE PERCENT"

    And so on.

Spotted on Dailykos - again! Decided its time to act. I found a cheap used overhead projector online, got plenty of large boxes at work. Soon to be posting in W. SanJose, and Cupertino - home to Apple and others.
